
HOME VISIT SESSION DETAILS

Location: Family’s home
Participants: Parents and client/child

The BCBA travels to the family’s home to observe and discuss the results of observation to better guide treatment.
Duration of session: 1.5 hours

The recommended monthly hours range between 1-2 times per month or as clinically recommended for this type of services.

*This services follows the completion of a combination of 4-6 parent behavior skills training and family treatment guidance sessions.
SESSION DESCRIPTION
In-home observation and consultation sessions are a supplemental service in which the BCBA travels to your home to observe the families use of the treatment procedures in the client’s/child’s natural environment. This service allows for treatment adjustments based on what will be most successful within your home. There will be both observation of the family and consultation of the results of the observation. The following areas would be addressed within these sessions.
OBSERVATION IN NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
The BCBA will conduct an observation of the families interactions in the natural environment. This will assist in identifying areas of need, barriers to treatment, further training).
OBSERVATION OF TREATMENT PROTOCOL
The BCBA will observe the family implementing the treatment goals in the natural environment. This also allows for the BCBA to answer any questions in the moment.
IN-VIVO FEEDBACK AND BCBA MODELING
With having this service in the families natural environment, it allows for in the moment feedback on the implementation of the treatment procedures. This also is a time for the BCBA to model the implementation in the natural environment.
REVIEW THE RESULTS OF THE OBSERVATION
At the end of the observation, parents and the BCBA will discuss and review the results of the observation. During this time, there will be a review of any new recommendations and adjustments made to the treatment procedures as needed.
