PARENT BEHAVIOR SKILLS TRAINING SESSIONS

LOCATION AND PARTICIPANTS
Location: In-Office Session
Participants: Parents only

This service is completed with parents only to allow for uninterrupted training and to be able to discuss client behavior without having the client overhear.
DURATION OF SESSION AND RECOMMENDATION
Session Durations: 1 hour or 1.5 hours

The recommended monthly hours range between 4-8 per month of this type of services.
SERVICE DESCRIPTION
The following activities are the focus within Parent Behavior Skills Training sessions. All areas are needed for successful treatment, however, the number of areas able to be targeted per hour depends on pace of learning, complexity of the behaviors, and consistency of services.
PARENT EDUCATION
This includes parent education on the fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis as well as client-specific skills training. Parent education will also have applied practice with both contrived and real-life scenarios.
GOAL AND TREATMENT DEVELOPMENT
​During this time, the treatment goals based on your families specific needs will be created. The treatment procedure, with implementation instructions, will be developed with special consideration for your families home environment.
TREATMENT PLAN AND DATA COLLECTION TRAINING
Parents will engage in role play training with the BCBA on each of the behavior plan procedures developed and receive training on the data collection system unique to your family.
PROGRESS REVIEW AND UPDATED RECOMMENDATIONS
There will be a review of the data collected by parents outside of session and progress updates will be discussed. This is also when any updated recommendations and adjustments to treatment procedures will be made.
PARENT CONCERNS CHECK-IN
During these sessions, there is a time to check in on any concerns parents may have and follow up on an previous concerns.
